Some Pharisees warned Jesus to flee because Herod wants to kill him. Then Jesus turns his attention to Jerusalem and expresses his love for this city
In today’s lesson we can hear the heartbreak of God! We cannot read it without seeing God's tears and hearing God's love for this city. The great mother heart of God is there, especially in the words "as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings".
Jesus' tears over Jerusalem's stubbornness are a testimony to the freedom of the human will to resist God’s grace and will.
Are you moved when you see evil around you? Or you are indifferent?
